Most of us have lived with pain at some point, sometimes for a day, maybe a week, months or even years. Working with you while you have pain gives us both a window to see what’s working that should be working and what’s working that shouldn’t be. It is a simple concept created years ago, that if you find stillness and quiet for what shouldn’t be working in your body, then the correct muscles, tendons and ligaments can do their thing, and that gets us out of pain. I have lived this. For the past three years I have suffered from back pain and am now pain free most of the time. This is the best part: when pain shows up I now know how to unwind my body. I use simple, pure movements that get me tuned up and the pain is gone, simple as that!
I have just embarked in a 800 hour Yoga Therapy Certification Training with Susi Hately of Functional Synergy, and I am so excited to be hanging my shingle on my own small yoga space with this as a focus. This is a lovely space I have been using for my home practice and am so pleased to now be able to offer it for Private Yoga Sessions.

Therapeutic yoga sessions are designed to bring students & clients into basic body movements, “pre Yoga” if you will, with less, or more often, no pain. Developed movements become “prescribed” exercises to be done regularly and often. Follow up sessions are then designed to help move down the path of pain free movement. Students then progress into more classical asanas as a way of improving function and strength once we discover movement without pain. Moving forward with pain-free movement, function and strength we will work together to take advantage of the great offering of Yoga studios and classes in our area and explore how a regular yoga practice can fit into your way of looking after yourself.
