Into
the Heart of the Indigenous Soul
with Vision Quest
On hold until September 2011. Further details will be
coming soon.
How can the condor (ancient ways) and the eagle (modern
ways) weave a life that is full of meaning and wonder? What
is it like to live a life steeped in the indigenous? How
do we balance our life in the ancient ways and the modern
world?
Rowena
Pantaleon and Sybil Nance will provide a seven session
program that calls a circle. Drawing from the work of Angeles
Arrien - cultural anthropologist and author of the “Four
fold Way” and Malidoma Some - African Shaman, educator
and author of “The Healing Wisdom of Africa”,
and Peruvian Inca Mysticism. We will explore the empowerment
of the soul by coming home to our indigenous nature. We will
immerse ourselves in the heart of ritual so that we may assist
in the healing of each other and our planet.
This
series will include sacred space, invocation, honoring
of and healing with the ancestors, drum journeys, ritual,
and vision quest. We will explore and deepen our connection
to the five elements (fire, water, earth, mineral and nature).
We will practice deep listening, learn to dialog with the
ancestral and unseen world, discover and share each others “medicine” and
honor our gifts and wisdom.

Testimonials
“Rowena is able to create a sacred space that nurtures profound healing
and insight. Her loving wisdom and intuition are catalysts for journeys into
the deeper recesses
of heart and spirit. The Vision Quest experience was amazing, and I know will
bear fruit for many years”. – T. T.
Rowena
provides a compassionate sacred holding space as she guides and supports
participants through these amazing opportunities for self growth and spiritual
discovery. I feel Rowena is “divinely guided” as she creates and
facilitates these experiential processes that are designed to provide the maximum
potential to unfold. All we have to do is to be open. – M.G.
I attended the vision quest in the summer of 1999. I was experiencing
my sixth year of infertility. Every passing year with no baby and the likelihood
of
never having a child was eating away at me. My own unresolved issues with
my own Mother were taking their toll. I felt my sanity was at stake. A recent
miscarriage, after a long process of fertility treatments was devastating.
The medical system was like my family of origin. I went on the vision quest
with the hope of becoming pregnant and having a child. It was a process that
unpeeled layers of the person who I thought I was. I was taught how to use
ritual and mediation and utilize my ancestors for aide in my present dilemma.
My son was born on June of the follow year. I do believe that had I never
embarked
on that long heavy trek into Mt. Shasta that day, that I would not have ever
had my son. – T. F.
My experience with vision quest was Incredible & Life changing!!!! I had
been afraid of nature & of being alone at night prior to the vision quest.
I experienced & came to trust my allies to get me through the nights spent
alone. Now, over 2 years later, I feel a stronger love of nature as well as
more trusting of my ancestors and allies to get me through whatever it may
be. Rowena is GREAT as a facilitator and she was very supportive and holding
of whatever the process that any of us were going through. – A.N.

hi there sybil ~
I just wanted to send a note to say thank you for everything you brought together
during the retreat at doe bay. It was really a remarkable week end for me. The
beauty of the island, and particularly right there at doe bay, is just incredible. all of that in combination with you and your offerings of yoga, the meditations
and readings and music - all of these together created such a beautiful and
safe environment for me to further discover this practice and all it has to
offer.
I am feeling i have access to a sense
of well being i have not known
for a very long time. i am certain
that all of the pieces you fashioned
together
over the week end retreat, have helped to remind and reassure me of my connection
to the 'family of things' and to the flow of all that is.
it was really such a treat.
My many thanks to you, sybil.
Best,
elizabeth bowers
Dearest Sybil,
Without the mirror, I can not see my reflection.
You are the mirror, that let's me see the reflection
of my heart.
I say this with the greatest of gratitude.
Thursday night's class was perhaps the most
sublime, penetrating, heartfelt, joyous
occasion's of my life.
Open your heart . . . you asked.
I do believe that my heart fell wide open.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Jan
Dear Sybil,
Your compassion and tending to the pain in my heart yesterday was another
living example of what a powerful conduit you are to transform, uplift
and help heal.
I am grateful to have you in my life and am inspired by ‘your way’,
your presence, your being, your love, your essential nature, your connection
to source, your thirst for life, and your contribution to all you touch.
You are lovely my friend! I want to thank
you and Flow Yoga for everything you have shared with me. This has been my
first
experience with yoga and it has really filled that spiritual
void in my life. I absolutely love it and I know I will practice yoga forever.
I appreciate all of your reminders and mantras that you mention in class. They
truly do affect me and help me get through a lot of mental battles. Sometimes
I feel like you're speaking directly to me, like today when you recited the
mantra about "accepting necessary changes that will temporarily disrupt
your life" - it was exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks.
I found myself tearing up as you read the poem today… My son graduates
HS this week and my fondest hopes for him are to live a life full of that which
gives him the most joy… I think I will print this out for him! Thanks
for your inspirational classes… I don’t know HOW you do it, Sybil
but somehow you always manage to impart to me that which I need… thank
you.
